This event is held each year during the month of July to raise funds for the prize money for the annual Chicken and Bread Days Fiddlers Contest. The event consists of fiddle music, a bake sale, a silent auction and a chicken dinner.

It has been held in the Methodist Church each year, but this year it will be held for the first time in Bowie's new Community Center. There will be a lot more room. Come out, enjoy and support The Chicken and Bread Days, Fiddle contest.

Chicken and Bread Days is held the first Saturday of October from 10:00AM to 4:00PM each year in Downtown Bowie. One of the major events of this festival is the Fiddlers Contest. The Fiddlers Contest is held in the Bowie Fire Department Fire Hall. The most recent event was October 1, 2010 in Downtown Bowie. The Fiddlers Contest has six divisions.More than $3,500.00 in cash prizes were awarded. The event was reported to be a big success. Prizes for this contest are funded by the July Jam event, featured elsewhere on this web site as well as other sponsors. Sponsors include Sewell Usselton Insurance and Real Estate as well The Bowie Bank.
