Friday Night Jam Session at Bowie Senior Citizens Center

Myself back in abort 1957. I think I must be scouting for a wagon train
headed somewhere to a guitar pickin' session. I am armed  with
a 30/30 because you never know what danger lies ahead.

Above is Yours Truly back in my days in the FFA
at dear old Abilene High School with one of my FFA project show steers.
This has nothing to do with guitar picking, but I thought
I would throw it in free of charge. I think all cowboys grow up to be guitar pickers.

Dale, Are you awake?
Twenty plus years ago, if there was a musical event in the
Bowie, Texas area, Dale and Bryan were on the stage as a team.
"The Hairy Legged Guitar Pickers" are now getting a little long in the tooth.
Skeeter Boyd is a musician and singer and also
a fiddle maker. Pictured above are four fiddles
                                           that Skeeter made.
Skeeter Boyd is shown playing 138 year old fiddle owned by
Ruth Ann Burk's great-grandfather, James Magruder.
James Magruder was born July 13, 1856. He started playing
the fiddle pictured above in 1872 at age 16. He died at the age
of 80 in 1936. The fiddle was not played following his death
until restoration by Skeeter Boyd. Restoration was completed
in June, 2010. The fiddle is known to be at least 138 years old.

Ruth Ann Burk is shown singing, "I'll Be all Smiles Tonight"
as Skeeter Boyd plays her great-grandfather's 138 year old fiddle.
This was at the June 1, 2010 Bowie Friday Night Jam Session
at the Bowie Senior Citizens Center.
